PTA and MCCPTA leaders, members, and many of their students, as well as County Executive Ike Leggett, Superintendent Josh Starr, and many members of the Board of Education and County Council are heading to Annapolis TONIGHT, March 6th, in support of additional state funds for our county’s critical construction needs. Our Montgomery Delegation will be there to greet us, and get us updated on the status of legislation critical to our kids. Our field trip is making the news; CLICK HERE to read and view recent coverage. Then, come tonight, and be part of tomorrow’s story!
There is almost nothing more important you can do to win construction dollars for our schools than bringing your friends, neighbors, grandparents, and students to Maryland PTA Night in Annapolis tonight. If your school is over capacity or has critical maintenance needs, you should be there to tell non-Montgomery County legislators your story. Bring the kids, let THEM tell their story. These legislators don’t get it. Yet. You can help make them understand.
Drive to Annapolis and meet us around 6 p.m. on Lawyers Mall OR grab one of the remaining seats on one a school bus MCCPTA is sending from five points throughout Montgomery County; CLICK HERE for details and links to check for available seats to ride free from Bethesda, Germantown, Poolesville, Rockville, or Silver Spring. Hurry, seats are almost gone! A full schedule of events AVAILABLE HERE.
And please don’t forget, all adults will need a valid photo ID to get into the state buildings in Annapolis; BRING YOUR PHOTO ID. Also, a reminder, middle and high school students can earn SSL hours by joining us; students under 18 must be accompanied by parent(s) or guardian(s).
