The NHE/OV PTA Big Give – Donate Today

The PTA just kicked off our biggest contribution campaign of the year. Please consider donating today to help out the students at NHE and Oak View Elementary Schools. Corporate donations also welcome.  The Big Give runs through December 31. Thank you!

The NHE/OV PTA Direct Donation “The Big Give” provides NHE/OV families and friends an opportunity to make a monetary donation directly to the PTA. All contributions go directly to supporting PTA programs without having to profit share with an outside organization. This allows us to move away from direct sales fundraising such as selling gift wrap papers and cookie dough products. The PTA funds (in full or in part) a wide range of activities that all NHEES/OVES students enjoy.

Montgomery County does NOT pay all of the bills at NHE Elementary and Oak View Elementary and funding from the PTA bridges the gap.

The truth is that MCPS does not pay for many of the “extras” that enhance our children’s school experience everyday. Things like classroom technology, art assemblies, library books, visiting artists, musical instruments, recess rainy-day games, and classroom supplies. One hundred percent of the funds you contribute will directly benefit your child’s education this year.

Your support in any capacity helps our schools and your child. Every family’s contribution is greatly appreciated, and we ask that you give as generously as you can. Thank you!

Please use the form below or donate online via Pay Pal by visiting the PTA homepage and clicking on the “Donate” button on the top right.  The Big Give ends on December 31 so give today!

Join us at our November PTA Meeting – 11/5 at 630pm at NHE

Hello Parents, Teachers, Principals, and Community Members,

I hope you and your families are well and enjoying the fall weather that has finally arrived.

Last Thursday, my daughter and I handed out bagged breakfasts to the bus drivers and crossing guard at NHE, a PTA effort organized by one of our volunteer parents. During this experience I was struck by three things. The first was the joy and appreciation that each bus driver and crossing guard expressed upon receiving a bag. The second was my daughter’s joy and pride in helping me complete the task. The third was students’ curiosity in what my daughter and I were doing and their smiles when we told them.

The seemingly small effort of honoring our bus drivers and crossing guards with bagged breakfasts made a large impression on all those involved and beyond. To me, this is what being a a member of the PTA is all about; working together to create a strong, vibrant, and caring community that extends beyond our schools’ walls.

With this in mind, I would like to invite you to our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, November 5th from 6:30-7:30 at NHE. Babysitting will be provided.

Come learn about our upcoming activities and advocacy priorities, add your voice to the conversation, and see how you can get involved! The agenda is attached.

Warmly,

Michelle, PTA President, mom of 2nd grade student
